Eastern Connecticut CIT Training CommentsComments made on the Class Evaluation Form by graduates of the Eastern CT Crisis Intervention Team Training held from March 15-19, 2004. [This training] gives a totally different aspect of how to conduct myself as a police officer and how to make myself an asset to my community -- and a person who can help the mentally ill people of my community. Also, we can help other members of our department be more understanding of the mentally ill. Best training I have ever had. One of the, if not THE best trainings I have ever attended. This philosophy and the progress we are making with less lethal [options] will shape the future of policing. Thank you all!!! Great training. Outstanding instructors, and very useful information. Everyone involved was knowledgeable and professional. [I]definitely have a better understanding of what people with mental illness are going through and how I need to react to them. I also have a better understanding of how the mental health system works. The course has given me a broader perspective on how to handle persons in psychiatric crisis. I know now that I will never handle an incident the way I previously handled them. If I apply the learning I received this week along with experience, I should hope to never have a problem. This was great training. I know I will be able to apply this in the field. Certainly First Class! One of the best training events I have been to in the past 15 years. It has changed the way I view my job and the community. Highly recommended. An overall excellent experience. I was educated. It changed some of my perspectives and my opinions. A great deal of work went into this training by the staff and their work is greatly appreciated. Presentations were excellent overall. Some were "eye-openers!" Glad I volunteered to be a part of this training. Set up of the course overall was excellent. Thank you for the daily breakfast, lunch, coffee etc…(Great idea!) |
