P.S.R.I. offers training in "Classic Suicide" Intervention and "Suicide by Cop." Utilizing graphic videos of attempted and completed suicides, P.S.R.I. provides comprehensive training on the dynamics of a suicide in progress and demonstrates the blended process and procedures for maximum safety and minimal civil liability. This comprehensive 8-hour course provides proven field procedures and life saving tactics which explain, in detail, how to safely approach the multifaceted suicide-in-progress. Topics Covered:
This training is certified by the State of California's Commission on Peace Officer's Standards and Training. (P.O.S.T.) Dr. PerrouDr. Barry Perrou holds a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and is a 30 year member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. As a Sergeant, Barry is Commander of the department's Hostage/Crisis Negotiations Team attached to S.W.A.T. He is also the Coordinator of the Department's Mental Health Services, addressing mental health policy and procedure for patrol regions in the Sheriff's 3.8 million population service area. Dr. Perrou is also a Commissioner for the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health. He has treated psychiatric patients in the L.A. County Jail Forensic Unit and consults with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies reviewing "Suicide-by-Cop" and the handling of "Suicide-in-Progress" incidents involving law enforcement personnel. |
