We head out on patrol with Lieutenant Ray Hassett of the New Haven Police Department. Hassett's been through Crisis Intervention Team—or CIT—training, which helps police officers deal with people with mental illness. He uses it every day as he oversees a district that has its share of drugs, gang activity and street crime.

This is the second part of our series on CIT training. In part 1, 'hear voices' with officers—learning what it's like to have mental illness.
