Edwin Ciolkosz, M.Ed.

Ed retired from the Manchester Police Department in 2001 after 31 years of service in the Patrol Division. While there he was on the Accident Reconstruction Team and managed the Employee Peer Assistance Team. He is a member of the Northeast Critical Incident Stress Management Team and responds to critical incidents throughout the state.

Ed is a P.O.S.T. certified instructor and has taught at both the Hartford Police and Connecticut Police Academies. He is also a consultant and instructs federal law enforcement officers on EAP and family support issues around the country. He is the Connecticut representative of the National Police Suicide Foundation and has taught classes on issues of grief / bereavement in the private sector.

After the World Trade Center attack, Ed conducted debriefings of federal employees who worked at the site. He is certified to facilitate grief support groups for adults, children and currently volunteers as a facilitator for grieving adolescents at The Cove, a not-for-profit organization that provides support for grieving families.

He received a Masters Degree from Antioch New England Graduate School and is an adjunct instructor of Criminal Justice at Capital Community College. He maintains memberships and certifications in several professional organizations
